After graduating with an honours degree in Psychology and Health Studies from Queen’s University, Alyson Munkley pursued medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. She achieved the designation of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) in 2004.
The fundamental goal in Alyson’s practice is to identify and treat the cause of illness using a combination of established naturopathic and Western medical assessment techniques and therapies. This allows patients the best possible evidence-based holistic care to facilitate the healing process. A combination of modalities including acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, and homeopathy are used in her practice. Alyson has a special interest in women’s health, and has completed additional training in Bowen therapy, acupuncture for fertility enhancement, acupuncture in pregnancy and childbirth, cosmetic acupuncture, and advanced herbal medicine.
Alyson frequently provides educational seminars for both corporate and public groups, and has also been a contributor for publications including Glow, New Outlook, Now magazine, and Our Neighbourhood.
Alyson is a compassionate practitioner who works with clients of all ages and a wide variety of health conditions. She is committed to achieving the best results for her patients, and has found that the most profound and effective healing occurs through the use of safe and natural therapies. Alyson is an assistant professor at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. |
